Try if CWM based the recovery, you must be off the phone once you press Volume up + Volume down and power button (do not Let go) may appear to be choices you press Just up button to enter recovery.

First make backup with CWM Recovery

How to Backup on CWM Recovery
1) Enter CWM recovery (you know how to enter)
2) Select backup and restore >>backup
3) Wait after (Make sure that there's more to 500mb plus space on the SDcard)

Guys You all know that Rooting a Phone Is Not a Legal Way....

It Void the Disclaimer Warranty..

Btw,Rooting a micromax phone is not so harmfull as Micromax servie center

didn't check Whether Your device is rooted or not... ;)

Before you Begins

Q.1- what does Rooting mean??
A.1- Android is built upon the linux operating system,where there is an concept of an administrator user aka "root" that has full permission to the system.When you root a phone your are enabling access to the root user so you can call on that user to access protected funcionality.
Q.2- Did Rooting Harm??
A.2- I will not tell lie. YES it harms.But there are very few case.
Q.3-Do I need any pre-requisit Preparation??
A.3-No its not recommended. But for safety you can make a backup of your current rom.

Requirement To Root Micromax A87

1. Download Java jdk-32bit

Steps To Root Your Micromax A87(Ninja-4)

A. Install java jdk.
Install it normally.

B. Install Android-SDK.
After installing android-sdk,goto that folder you have installed sdk.
There you will find a 'sdk manager',Open it.
A popup will appear,from there select "Android-sdk-Platform-Tools" & "Google-usb-Driver",
unselect the rest.Click install packages.
After it get installed,put the "adb_usb.ini" file in "C:\User\(your pc name)\.android"

C.Now in your phone goto setting>application>development>enable usb debugging.
Now Connect Usb cable with pc then with your phone.
It should say usb debugging mode connected & show a little green android icon on the top left of your phone.(If not then reinsert the cable)

D.Window will detect the device.Let it stabilize.Then extract A87 driver to a location say "C:\drivers"

E.Now goto 'start' click on 'search'. 
In the search box type 'run'.Then a blue icon will appear in the search screen.click on it.
Now in the run box type this "devmgmt.msc" then click ok.
A new box will get opened,from there right click on the "android adb interface",upgrade driver & lead it to the location of your extracted 'a87 driver'.

F. Install Unlock Root,Open it & click Root.

G. It will ask for the device,select micromax a87 & you are done.

Please note You can't held me responsible for any loses you did after rooting...  

How to Root Micromax A52

Micromax A52 was launched back in June, this year. It was a nice balance between specifications and affordability. The A52 boasts of a 1 GHz processor and Bluetooth v3.0, everything else isn't that shiny: be it the measly 2 MP camera or the 240x320 screen with a very low 125 ppi density, that is sure enough to ruin your video watching experience. But given the low end price of INR 5.5k (~$104), all the minus points are forgivable. Simply put, it's another nice value for money Android smartphone by Micromax.

This post is meant to be a rooting tutorial, so instead of reviewing the specsof the device, I guess, it's better to get back to the topic. Before rooting, you might want to know what rooting is? If you don't have enough time to read that post, here's the summary: Rooting let's you do cool stuffs but voids your warranty. The words in Red should be read and understood carefully before you proceed with this tutorial.
This will void your manufacturer's warranty, and any stupidity on your end might lead you to brick your device. So, do everything at your own risk. Don't get terrified by the "brick" part, most of the times your phone will get back to normal. (I shall help you in that.)

Requirements: A Micromax A52, a windows PC/ laptop, USB cable, a52 Root.rar, UnlockRoot, MTK.rar, SP Flash Tool, your patience and courage.

1. Go to Settings > Applications > Development and click enable debugging. (Don't click if the box is already ticked.)
2. Connect your phone to the PC via USB cable.
3. Extract the a52 root.rar file. The file contains a modified boot.img and A52 scatter file which will be needed by SP tools.
4. Install MTK Drivers by double clicking the InstallDriver.exe file in the MTK folder you extracted from MTK.rar file you downloaded above.
5. Flash the boot.img using the SP tools using this guide.
6. 
   Tip: In the guide linked above, recovery is being flashed, you have to flash the boot.img file you got from a52 root.raR
7. Take-out-and-put-back your phone's battery to perform a reboot.
8. Install the UnlockRoot tool using the downloader you downloaded from the requirements.
9. Click on the Root button on the UnlockRoot's home screen.
10. Next screen will ask you if you want to install drivers, say yes err.. I mean click yes :P

    

    Click 'Yes'

11. Your phone will be rooted and finally it will ask if you want to reboot your phone changes to take effect, again, click yes.
12. Your phone will reboot and ENJOY! it's rooted!!!
